David has devoted the past 15 years to teaching a wide range of students. His first school teaching job in 1999 was in a secure facility for juvenile offenders, where his enthusiasm and faith in his students’ abilities motivated them to ask for more challenging lesson material. As a result, he designed and implemented an AP Biology curriculum under these difficult circumstances. Since 2002, Mr. M. has taught AP Biology at the Pingry School, in addition to serving as an adjunct professor at Raritan Valley Community College. He has helped grade the AP Biology exam free response questions for the past 7 years. He has 2 children, 2 dogs and one wife. He has won the Whitlock Award for excellence in science and math teaching, as well as a grant which supported him on a coast-to-coast bicycle journey.
