Masters and Ph.D.

Personal Statement

Emrah is an experienced Honors/AP/College Physics educator who identifies where his students are having difficulty first, and then he will help them learn and not memorize. He has served as a faculty member in a High School science department for a decade, and currently he teaches at Montclair State University. Emrah teaches by making connections between concepts and real-life experiences. Then he makes connections between concepts themselves. Once the map of the territory is clear in the student’s mind, he takes the student for a ride in that virtual field, then let the student take the control and enjoy the ride on his/her own. That is when the student feels the mastery in the subject and enjoy the confidence. Before becoming an educator Emrah worked as a researcher studying the making of q-bits for quantum computers using nanomechanical systems in the D.C. area. He likes biking and traveling in his spare time.
