There is nothing that a student cannot learn if properly guided, motivated, and cared for. This has been Joseph’s philosophy since he graduated college and began teaching eight years ago. Joseph, currently a faculty member at a nationally ranked high school in New York City, prides himself on guiding the student to ask the right questions, motivating the student to come to the desired knowledge on his or her own terms, and providing a structure and support on which he or she can rely. A wide range of experience, with middle school and high school students, has shaped Joseph’s educational philosophy. He has traveled with students to Kenya, Costa Rica, Greece, Italy, among other places, and has learned to meet students where they are, not where they “should be.” Joseph is available to tutor Latin, History, and English students who are seeking a deeper understanding of these subjects. Joseph holds a BA in Classics from Fairfield University and a MA in Latin Adolescent Education from Hunter College.
