Tim is a dedicated educator who has taught in a wide variety of settings for over 15 years. The majority of his experience is in the classroom, where he spent 10 years as an elementary school teacher in Philadelphia. Tim has taught students ranging from elementary age to adults, and has experience with teaching reading (both foundational skills and comprehension), writing (grammar and writing in multiple genres), math, science, and social studies. He recognizes that any student can absorb, learn, and apply information if it is framed in a relatable way. He is flexible to student and family needs. Tim holds a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Drexel University and a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University. In addition to classroom teaching, Tim has spent time as a private tutor, as a fill-in adjunct instructor at Relay Graduate School of Education, and as an instructor for the American Red Cross and Seattle YMCA. He has gained a broader view of the world by virtue of leading service learning projects and working with at-risk youth at summer camps and a group home. He enjoys spending time with his young daughter and wife, hiking, writing, reading, and playing basketball.
