Personal Statement

Robert joined the instructional staff from the engineering industry, after an extended career with AT&T Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, Alcatel-Lucent, and Nokia of America Corp. He held a senior-level position as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and Reliability Specialist. He was the lead strategist for innovative reliability assurance programs for wireless telecommunication products, manager for supply-chain quality, and course leader for corporate professional development training in reliability testing. Robert currently manages a consulting practice in reliability assurance for advanced electronic hardware and telecommunication infrastructure equipment. Robert received the B.E. and M.E Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the City College of New York and holds a Doctorate in Engineering (Applied Mechanics) from the City University of New York (New York, NY). He served as a part-time faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the City College of New York, Farleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ), and New Jersey Institute of Technology (Newark, NJ). Robert published numerous technical papers and lectured at major industry conferences, learning centers, and high-tech companies in the USA, Canada, Europe, Israel, Southeast Asia, and China. Robert provides customized instruction in all levels of Middle School and High School STEM-related subjects, specifically Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, introductory Statistics, general Physics, and Engineering Science. He is also an experienced communications coach in preparing professional-level technical reports and visual presentations. Robert provides differentiated instruction tailored to the learner and subject, that integrates foundational knowledge, organizational skills, critical thinking, and defined practice to assure understanding and academic success. Robert engages and motivates leaners by incorporating his engineering experience into instruction, to demonstrate subject relevance and how basic material is applied in modern technologies.
