Elena is a graduate of Vassar College, with a B.A. in both Mathematics and English, along with a minor in Women's Studies. After graduating from Vassar, she continued her study of math to ear her M.A. in Mathematics from CUNY’s Graduate Center. While in graduate school, she had the opportunity to teach an undergraduate Calculus course at Queens College and tutor many NYC high school students in various math courses. Once she finished her Master's degree, she began teaching high school Geometry within the Uncommon Schools network in Brooklyn, while continuing to tutor after school. Her love of teaching brought her to Kent Place School, where she currently teaches AP Calculus AB at the Upper School. She values the ability to work with students on an individual basis so that she can tailor problems, examples, questions, and explanations to each of her students' needs.
