Personal Statement

Having taught a variety of age groups for 25+ years, Patricia received her PhD in English from Drew University in Madison, NJ, with distinction. Moreover, she has published a full-length critical analysis of the writer Dawn Powell. She is a NJ certified teacher of English and has two degrees in history (American and Victorian). She is as passionate about the subjects she teaches as she is about each of her students. She sees that every student’s needs are met, whether individually or in small-group settings. The most important thing you should know about Patricia is that she is dedicated to helping all students become the best that they can be. More than teaching English critical writing, analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and all sorts of exam prep, Patricia can help students write college application essays in a way that will make them stand out. She can also assist students in editing papers, assist graduate students with theses or dissertations, and is well-versed in the art of the job hunt, having taught business writing for 16 years. She looks forward to working with you!
