Personal Statement
As a student, I HATED standardized tests!!! They didn't reflect who I was as a student. The scores didn't show how hard I worked , how good my grades were, or how smart I was! When I became a teacher, I decided to start tutoring students for the ACT & SAT because I wanted to teach my students the tricks I didn't know back then. I have realized that test prep is a game, and I can train my students to win. I don't know about you, but I really like winning! I worked for 18 years as a public high school teacher and am certified in English and as a Reading Specialist. Since then, I have been tutoring full time. I love to work with a range of students. I have some students who are significantly below grade level while others are at the AP level. I believe that test prep really needs to be personalized to the individual student based on their needs and goals. I look forward to meeting with you and helping you achieve your goals!
