Ben
Personal Statement
As a professional educator, Ben finds it most important for his students to be engaged in the learning process. When a student’s brain is focused on the material in different ways that student will understand the subject matter in a more thorough and profound way. Much of his professional development throughout the years has been attending Learning and the Brain conferences and seminars dedicated to connecting neuroscience to education. In addition to understanding a subject, he also believes it is important to understand why that topic is important and where it fits into the grand scheme of things. Whenever working with a novice in a subject area he strives to pass on a passion for learning new things and appreciating the patterns in math and science.
