Personal Statement
Cliff is a social studies/history teacher with thirty years of experience teaching and tutoring high school students in Syosset High School on Long Island/Nassau County, NY. Syosset High School is ranked in the top 100 high schools nationwide and is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. During his tenure, he has also earned a Fulbright Scholarship. Cliff is a highly organized, motivated and creative teacher with expertise in working with students and using teaching strategies that foster long-term learning in history. He has a comprehensive understanding of historical concepts and an enthusiastic, engaging and confident personality ideally suited for motivating students. Cliff specializes in working with students on both AP U.S. History and AP World History tutoring, content review, and test prep and the SAT II U.S. History and World History subject tests as well as NYS Global Studies Regents/U.S. History Regents tutoring, content review and test prep. Cliff is especially passionate about teaching history to students, but even if he’s teaching math, he loves being able to work one-on-one with students and discern their particular learning styles. He can then figure out how to teach them in the most effective way. Cliff gets great personal satisfaction from sharing information and seeing students develop mastery of subject matter.
