Personal Statement
Dr. Jill's passion for Psychology led her to earn a PhD in Psychology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, after having earned a BA in Psychology from Villanova University. She loves teaching her AP Psychology students while using her 25 years of experience in the field to provide a vibrant, engaging, and comprehensive pedagogical approach. Dr. Jill believes that successful tutoring is dependent on a student-centered dynamic curated to meet each student’s individual needs. Dr. Jill's strengths lie in her patience and willingness to employ various learning strategies until her students “get it” coupled with her excitement for psychology. She has expertise in industrial/organizational, biological, cognitive, social, motivation/personality, clinical, and developmental psychology. Dr. Jill takes complex topics and breaks them down into manageable, easy-to-understand parts for her students. She has taught psychology and mathematics at the middle school, high school and college level and has worked in the pharmaceutical industry using psychology to improve research and statistical methods. Dr. Jill also has experience in business psychology with a focus on personality factors in the workplace. While her early days in the field had her working with world-renowned cognitive psychologists on infants’ memory capacity, Dr. Jill particularly treasures her time tutoring high school psychology students. Outside of work, Dr. Jill enjoys spending time with her husband and raising her high school-age children.
