Personal Statement
Emily, a current doctoral candidate in History at the University of Oxford, completed her B.A. in English and European History at Northwestern University in 2015 and her M.St. in British and European History at the University of Oxford in 2016. She has tutored students --both virtually and in person -- in writing and humanities subjects since 2015, and she has helped students improve their coursework and skills, gain admission to top universities, and win scholarships. In conjunction with her detail-oriented approach to writing and editing, Emily guides students through strategies that help them gain confidence and think critically throughout the writing process and many forms of academic analysis. She also tailors her approach to each student's particular needs, making sure that they feel comfortable and appropriately supported along the way.
