Personal Statement
Gareth is an experienced tutor and mentor with deep expertise across a wide range of math and science subjects. He has also supported STEM professionals transitioning from academia to industry and taught foundational concepts in machine learning and computer science, bringing both technical depth and practical insight to his teaching.
Gareth believes in building his students' confidence and helping them develop effective study skills that allow them to succeed independently. An advocate of a growth mindset, he strives to create supportive learning environments where students feel empowered to challenge themselves and take ownership of their learning.
He holds a PhD in Physics from Harvard University and has worked in data science and software development. A lifelong learner himself, Gareth enjoys exploring new subjects and approaches to teaching. He particularly enjoys listening to new music and learning about music theory, and is even able to tutor for AP Music Theory.
