Personal Statement
James Owk is a proud graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor's Liberal Arts and concentration in World History. He has been working in various educational capacities in Philadelphia for over 14 years. As a first generation non-traditional student at the collegiate level, James uses his experiences to connect with students in writing spaces challenged with navigating the processes and presented when entering higher education. James's philosophy is centered in cultivating strengths of young people academically while embracing their weaknesses as avenues to take ownership of in order to prosper. James is an avid fan of panda bears, worldly cuisines, and creative entrepreneurship.
