John Fahy
Personal Statement
After earning his B.S. in Biochemistry in May 2012, John earned his NJ Standard Teaching Certificate in Chemistry and spent most of the next 10 years teaching high school classes within the NJ public school system. He has previously taught College Prep Chemistry, Forensic Science, and AP Biology and currently teaches Honors Chemistry and Environmental Engineering. He learned a a wide array of Data Analysis skills from his original degree, including Regression Analysis and Bayesian Analysis. In 2019, he returned to work on an AS in Computer Science, which he completed in August of 2020. Here, he furthered his Data Analysis skills, particularly working with Python, Java, and C Programming. One of his core strengths as a teacher involves incorporating Data Analysis with Python and Excel into his current classes, particularly during laboratory projects. He has tutored or provided home instruction for a wide array of subjects over the years, including College level Italian, College level General Chemistry, AP Chemistry, High School Chemistry, College Prep Physics, Algebra 1 & 2, and Elementary Math & Reading. During his free time he enjoys travelling to other regions of the world and discussing new trends in global markets and business.
