Personal Statement

Kate’s personal mission is to approach all aspects of a student with perspective, whether it is leading them through new material, honing their study skills, or improving admissions tests scores. Her holistic approach to each student’s needs allows her to design an individualized plan incorporating their specific learning style, a deeper understanding of material, and open communication among each student’s ‘team members’. Kate first started tutoring while pursuing an undergraduate degree in business when she was asked to TA for a non-verbal communications class; this is where her love of being a student grew to a love of being an educator. She then applied that same passion for education to her graduate program in architecture where she studied both design and educational theory, capped off by her thesis titled “Connectivity: Creating 21st Century Urban Learning Environments”. Kate has extensive experience tutoring K-12 subjects areas as well as admissions testing; she has also tutored architects sitting for their professional licensing exams.
