Personal Statement

Lauren has been in the field of education for 18 years. She holds a B.A in Secondary Education/English, a M.A in Special Education, and her certifications for Supervision and School Administration from Rider University. Lauren taught high school English on various levels: AP, Honors, College Prep, Academic and Inclusion and has helped to prepare students for many assessments such as the SAT, PSAT, and ACT. Lauren is passionate about helping students make genuine connections with their learning and engage in critical thinking to help cultivate their skills for academia and the real world. Lauren’s strengths are her ability to make the subject matter relatable to the lives of her students and her ability to explain the material on the appropriate level for her students so that they are able to reach the maximum level of understanding. Lauren tries to create an environment where students feel supported and are able to gain confidence in their ability to formulate solutions independently. She is a life-long learner who is always trying to keep herself current with the successful trends and strategies in education so that she can in turn help her students build upon their success. Lauren enjoys spending time with her daughter, going on adventures, and just loves life.
