Marcella Carling
Personal Statement
Marcella holds a Masters in Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Biological Evolution, and a Minor in Spanish from Pennsylvania State University. She has taught children in grades K-4 as either a Classroom Teacher or Learning Specialist. Marcella has received hundreds of hours of professional development from prominent institutions such as, Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, Math in the City, Wilson Reading Program, and the Orton Gillingham Method. Marcella's strengths lie in her ability to connect with her students, plan engaging lessons, combine direct instruction with higher level questioning, and instill a Growth Mindset in her students. She creates a safe environment for her students to take risks, allowing them to meet their full potential. Marcella is hard-working, dedicated, and willing to learn. She loves reading, bike rides, spending time with her kids, and training her dog, Phoenix.
