Marina
Personal Statement
Marina has helped students conquer their testing fears and succeed on the SAT or ACT for over a decade. As a formerly anxious test-taker, Marina develops a personalized approach to help each student build their test-taking toolbox and develop the confidence to succeed. In addition to developing subject knowledge, Marina is passionate about developing critical-thinking, problem-solving, and essential study skills in her students that will serve them beyond the test. Marina graduated with honors from Rutgers University, and subsequently went on to receive her M.A. from Georgetown University. "My style is individualized for each student. I try to create a space where students feel comfortable to voice concerns and address their test-taking anxieties, as well as be a calming presence that guides them to critically thinking through the problem, rather than explains at them. I try to be informal with most of my students and develop a deep and long-lasting relationship with them. "
