Personal Statement

Matt has been tutoring for 8 years now in a vast array of subjects in mathematics and science. His love for teaching for began when he was pursuing his masters of science degree in chemistry at Rutgers University. As a graduate student, Matt was responsible for being a teacher assistant, exam proctor, and holding review sessions. After obtaining his Masters, he became an SAT/ACT math tutor. Matt has tutored many students and has helped them grasp difficult math concepts to successfully tackle the SAT/ACT. Matt is very enthusiastic in his sessions and believe that education can not only open doors for you, but can make you a better individual. He has been known to be able to break down difficult topics in math and science so students can gain a better understanding of the material. Matt believes every student, regardless of their education level or ability, has what it takes to do well in school. He strives to reach every student so they can achieve their "aha moment." His favorite subjects to tutor are SAT and ACT math. Matt stresses that these standardized tests are incredibly important for a student's path in education. Matt is well-versed in these exams and knowledgeable on all topics they cover. With regards to the SAT/ACT, Matt stresses to his students that knowing how to take the SAT/ACT is just as important as knowing the material that you are being tested on. In his spare time Matt enjoys spending time with his family. Matt is also a sports fan and New York Times Crossword enthusiast. He has 2 young boys that keep him very busy.
