Personal Statement

Albert Einstein once said, "It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." As a teacher, principal, literacy coach and tutor, Michelle's experiences demonstrate her lifelong love of understanding the art of teaching, her skills at implementing curriculum (including CCSS), analyzing student data, problem-solving and mentoring. Throughout all this time, Michelle has been working privately with youngsters of all ages, helping them learn their strengths, building their skills, and instilling an appreciation of and love for reading, writing and other areas of literacy. Michelle has that special gift of weaving together the story behind a novel with, for example, world history, and other cross-curricular connections. She believes strongly in Embrace's mission of "embrace, engage and excel," and with her as a "guide on the side," so many students have been inspired to succeed! She is proud to say that she has worked with a "second generation" of students, and enjoys nothing more than to see a child "graduate" with success!!!
