Personal Statement

Novena is a passionate, enthusiastic educator of Mathematics and Science dedicated to providing quality instruction. Having worked with students in grades ranging from middle school up to the collegiate level, she has experience with a vast range of student abilities, personalities, and academic needs. Novena will soon graduate from Kean University with a BA in K-12 Mathematics, Dual Certification for Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Currently, she is a NJ certified substitute, instructing in a high school Geometry class. She holds an Associate’s degree in Science and Math from RVCC with academic distinction. Novena is dedicated to forming supportive relationships with her tutees to ensure that every student feels welcome and capable of reaching their goals. As a tutor and instructor, Novena will work to see that every student builds strong foundational skills, study habits, and academic confidence. She believes students learn best when they are actively engaged and aims to activate their natural curiosity. She wants the students to know they can achieve anything they set their mind to!
