Personal Statement
Patrick graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree and is a certified K–6 teacher. He began his teaching career as a substitute teacher in New Jersey where he worked with a diverse group of students, including those with disabilities, and has been teaching elementary school mathematics over the last decade.
He strongly believes that creating effective lesson plans play a vital role in a teacher’s success--a lesson plan that incorporates differentiated instruction and engaging activities ensuring that the needs of all students are met. He also believes that instructional planning should be data-driven. Conducting both formative and summative assessments provides valuable insight into students’ progress and help determine how best to support them in reaching their academic goals.
He believes that every child can learn when provided with the right tools and support and is committed to fostering a fun and safe learning environment. Additionally, Patrick values strong communication with parents as an essential part of the educational process. He is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that empowers children to discover and take pride in their individual strengths.
