Personal Statement
Sid holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance from the University of Guelph, where he graduated with Dean’s Honours distinction. Over the past eight years, he has tutored and mentored more than 1,000 students across advanced secondary and university-level economics, statistics, and finance curricula, with a specialized focus on AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics. Sid’s core strength lies in his ability to translate abstract economic theory into intuitive graphical models and dynamic real-world mechanisms. Rather than relying on passive memorization, he uses interactive, probing questions that guide students to derive solutions independently. His sessions emphasize active retrieval, systematic error logging, and mastering College Board scoring rubrics to excel in multi-part Free Response Questions (FRQs). Methodical, patient, and deeply encouraging, Sidak takes pride in demystifying high-stakes exam anxiety and building the conceptual confidence required for students to progress from baseline scores into consistent 5s. Outside of teaching, Sid enjoys staying active at the gym, cooking, and following macroeconomic trends.
