Personal Statement
Born and raised in New Jersey, Todd graduated Chatham Township High School in 1981 and Ohio University (BSC) in 1985. He began his career as a radio sportscaster in New England before returning to New Jersey where he became a writer, producer and on-air talent with TV Suburban Cablevision. He then moved into a teaching and tutoring role for several years with the Princeton Review. From there Todd went on to work in the Broadcast Department at the National Hockey League and then as Director of Marketing at Westwood One Radio. After some years in advertising, he spent nearly a decade writing and producing for NBC News and MSNBC in New York. In 2013 he left the world of radio and television to become a full-time tutor. He has consistently achieved positive results in ACT and SAT English and Reading prep as well as college application essays. He believes strongly in getting to know each student on a personal level. What are their interests and passions? What motivates them? What are the obstacles they must overcome? He then customizes his approach to fit the unique characteristics of each student individually. Todd has coached hockey and baseball for almost twenty years and has two teenage children and an Airedale named Brooks. In his free time he enjoys reading, softball, hockey, kayaking, skiing, playing the drums and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
