Personal Statement

William received his B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College in 2017 and is currently obtaining his medical degree from Temple University. A 4 year member of the varsity tennis team while at Swarthmore College, William understands the importance of balancing academics and extracurriculars. He holds over 10 years of tutoring experience and thousands of tutoring hours, with his expertise lying in standardized test prep. Many of his students have scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT or SAT, as William specializes in identifying key patterns to success on these exams and beyond. Outside of the classroom and tutoring, William focuses on community service work. Not only did he create a community tennis program to teach tennis to local youth, but he also directed a test prep and college mentoring program as a student-athlete at Swarthmore College. He managed over 100 underserved high schoolers, guiding many of these students to become first generation college students just as he had become a few years before them. William truly cares for each of his students and looks for ways to overcome any academic challenge.
